Big Little Lies, Lianne Moriarty
I'd read another of hers, What Alice Forgot, and liked it OK. I decided to read this one ahead of the HBO version. I think this one is better. It's a murder mystery, where you don't know who the killer is, or who died. Mostly it's about a group of women who live in a wealthy suburb of Sidney and who get caught up in some drama around their five year old children. Moriarty is an interesting writer - she draws fantastic characters, and her plots are good, but her writing is a little meh. I'm not sure if I'll read more, but I'd recommend this one. Having read this, and seen only the first episode of the show, the casting is absolutely perfect.
